 Storyline:

“Often World War II movies are black-and-white because the war itself was morally clear. It’s a fight between good and evil. But down at the actual scrimmage line, between good and evil, it was two drunks at a bar just slugging it out.” – Fury director David Ayer in an interview with Esquire

Writer/director David Ayer (Training Day, Street Kings and End of Watch) branches out from his L.A. cops and gangbangers metier to demythologize World War II with the muddy, bloody and gray (both visually and morally) new film Fury. Below is a gallery of set stills from the movie, which was shot with Panavision 35mm cameras. Many of the pics come from the Twitter feed of Ayer himself, who posted a photo from each of the film’s 62 days of principle photography.

The Plot: A day in the life of a tank crew cutting a swath through Germany in the waning days of World War II. Brad Pitt plays the tank’s commanding officer, with Logan Lerman serving as audience surrogate as a typist reassigned to Pitt’s battalion.
